Can Coke Zero Make You Fat?

Zero calories, zero chance of weight gain right? Technically yes, it's not but there's still ongoing research on the subject.

Even though it's zero calories, this means that the sugar has been replaced with artificial sweeteners and colours. So, this drink isn't necessarily a good choice when trying to be healthier. In fact 'The high phosphorus content in sodas may cause kidney damage. A study noted that those who drink more than 7 glasses of diet soda per week doubled their risk of kidney disease' and there are also tests that show that it can increase the disk of type 2 diabetes and osteoporosis.

These factors can actually lead to weight gain themselves, so even though the coke isn't directly adding the calories, they could lead to these changes in out bodies that can result in weight gain. If our bodies aren't functioning as well as they should, it can make it much harder to keep focused on eating well and exercising.

Plus, coke has no nutritional benefit and if it has a possibility to cause these issues then it might be better to avoid. Now if your a big coke lover then my advice would be the same as alcohol, little and every now and then. Try not to have it every day and try not to have it in large amounts.
